Recently, BCCI.TV shared a video where Rohit is trying to learn the basic Sinhalese language from the two Sri Lankan cricket fans. In the introduction part, Rohit said, “Hello guys! Today is a very special day for us as I have two special guests with me. On my left is Mr. Nilam – one of the true supporters of Sri Lanka cricket and on my right is Gayan, again another popular face in Sri Lanka cricket.
“You must have seen these two guys every time Sri Lanka plays cricket wherever in the world. Not just in Sri Lanka, whenever they have time, they travel to Sri Lanka just like we have Sudhir and few of the other guys travel with us. So, their support and their encouragement towards the team is been lot and so I’m here to learn little bit of Sinhalese, their local language.”
Rohit Sharma gave them some simple and basic sentences which they translated in the Sinhalese language. The sentences were at the following:
- Hello, how are you?
- I am good.
- My name is Rohit Sharma.
- I am with two of the Sri Lankan cricket fans.
- Indian team loves your support.
