Rohit Sharma Leaves For UAE With Wife Ritika And Daughter Samaira

The excitement for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has started to pick up slowly and steadily as the teams and players posting pictures on social media of them practicing or at the airport, adorned in PPE kits or team jerseys. Among those leaving for UAE was Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma, along with wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira.

Mumbai Indians posted a picture on Instagram with Samaira looking all poised while her parents are unrecognizable in their spacesuit-like kits as had been tagged on the picture for being identified. Captioning the picture, MI wrote: “All set for Samaira’s second IPL.”

Earlier, on Friday, Rohit Sharma had posted a picture on Instagram of Samaira organizing his cricket kit. Captioning the picture, Rohit wrote:  “Got my packer in chief to help me get ready for the UAE… Thanks, Sammy.’

Rohit Sharma has been really gearing up for IPL 2020, which gets underway in the UAE from September 19.

On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma shared a video from his net session where he can be seen playing various shots that are in his repertoire. “Up and running with @mumbaiindians,” Rohit captioned the video on his Instagram account.

Several teams have already reached the UAE. Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, and Kolkata Knight Riders have already arrived in the country with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore expected to arrive on Friday.

The 13th edition of the IPL will be played for 53 days, between September 19 and November 10, across three venues in UAE — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. Informing about the same in a press release, BCCI had stated, “IPL 2020 will be played from September 19 and the final will be played on November 10, 2020. The 53-day tournament will witness 10-afternoon matches starting at 15:30 IST while the evening matches will start at 19:30 IST.”
