Indian batting icon Rohit Sharma is making the most of his well-earned break from national duty after marking his international return on the Australia tour. The 38-year-old has been enjoying downtime with his family and reconnecting with close friends and former teammates — and on Thursday (November 6), he gave fans a glimpse of his lighter side with a hilarious prank video.

Rohit shared a comical Instagram clip in which he successfully fooled his former India and Mumbai teammate Dhawal Kulkarni using a trick pen that delivers a mild electric shock. What made the moment even funnier was Rohit’s sharp instinct — he identified the prank instantly when the pen was first handed to him.
In the video, one of his friends casually asked for an autograph, handing Rohit Sharma the suspicious-looking pen. With his trademark wit, Rohit immediately sensed something was off. “This is not a pen,” he laughed, inspecting it closely. Realising it was a prank pen, he added, “I’ll use this on someone very, very special.”

Before targeting Kulkarni, Rohit Sharma handed the pen to another friend, who clicked it and yelped in surprise as the electric shock hit. Rohit burst out laughing as his friend confirmed, “That’s what’s in it — shock!”

The real fun began moments later inside the gym, where Rohit Sharma was training alongside domestic teammates, including Shardul Thakur. As planned, someone passed the pen to Kulkarni. The moment he pressed it, Kulkarni flinched awkwardly in shock, leaving Rohit in splits. Kulkarni clicked it again — and the second jolt sent Rohit and the rest of the group into uncontrollable laughter.

While Rohit Sharma continues to trend for his off-field humour, his on-field form has been equally impressive. He ended the recent ODI series in Australia with a sensational century in Sydney, silencing critics who questioned his rhythm and consistency.
The limited-overs great will now resume national duties during the three-match ODI series against South Africa, beginning November 30, as Indian cricket gears up for another high-intensity tour.
