The five-member BCCI selection committee finalized the 18-member squad for the upcoming highly anticipated T20I series against South Africa at home the last Sunday. Some crucial cogs of Team India players missed out from the squad as part of the rest and rotate policy. Dinesh Karthik has been included in the squad and he will be making a comeback to the national side after almost three years.
It was a much-deserved India call-up for Dinesh Karthik after a brilliant performance in the IPL 2022. The 36-year-old has contributed significantly to the success of RCB in the ongoing season of IPL. Karthik played some crucial innings taking RCB over the line. He has been the standout batter for the Faf du Plessis-led side.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s motivating comment on the wicket-keeper’s Instagram post has caught some light. The comment is from last year’s English summer when Karthik posted a picture with a mic in his hand while commenting for the English broadcasters Sky Cricket.
“You still have some cricket left. FYI !” The Mumbaikar commented. “Don’t ever doubt that sham” replied Karthik.

Rohit Sharma is being appreciated by the social media users and the fans for backing Dinesh Karthik when it seemed to be the end of the road for the wicket-keeper. It was indeed a ‘spot-on’ prediction that became a reality after almost a year.

As per the quotes in Zee News, after his selection, Karthik said, “I must admit that I have a bigger goal. I have been working really hard. My aim is to do something special for the country. This is part of my journey. I have been trying everything to be a part of the Indian team.”
