Rohit Sharma reveals how Indian team doesn’t get support in Bangladesh

With no cricket going on, all the cricketers have a lot of free time on their hands right now. Many cricketers have also been proactive on their social media in the past few weeks due to the lockdown. On Saturday, India opener and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma joined Bangladesh opener, Tamim Iqbal for a live Facebook session. During the interaction, Rohit Sharma revealed how the Indian team doesn’t get any support in Bangladesh. He adds it is possibly the only place where the Indian team doesn’t have any support.  He also complimented Bangladesh cricket for their transformation into a cricketing giant.

“India and Bangladesh have passionate cricket fans, when we make mistakes, we are criticized from all corners. I know it is similar in Bangladesh, I know how passionate fans can get in Bangladesh. When we come to the ground to play the match, it is unbelievable, India is not used to playing without any sort of crowd support, Bangladesh is the only place where we do not get any support,” Rohit said.

Rohit Sharma and Tamim also spoke about the fan-base of their team’s respective teams.  The duo also opened the lid upon the recent emergence in the rivalry between India and Bangladesh in recent times.

“We get support wherever we go, Bangladesh is the only place where we do not get any support, I know Bangladesh fans really get behind you, this is a totally different Bangladesh side now, you have a sense of eagerness in your team now, everybody says that we have seen with your performances during the 2019 World Cup as well,” Rohit added.

The rivalry between India and Bangladesh began in 2007 when Bangladesh knocked out India from the 2007 ICC World Cup. The 2007 World Cup debacle lead to heated battles between the two countries that have continued after the same.
