Courtesy of a brilliant partnership between Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green, Australia is in a commanding position after Day 2 of the fourth Test. 36-year-old Khawaja on Friday, March 10 became the fourth Australian opener to score 150+ runs in Test innings in India and based on his marathon knock of 180 runs, Australia posted 480 runs on board.

Youngster Cameron Green amassed 114 off 170 deliveries. However, on Friday, he played a mature knock, bringing up his maiden Test century. When it comes to the Indian bowlers, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was once again phenomenal, picking up six wickets in the process. The 36-year-old couldn’t create an instant impact with the ball but did the damage eventually.

Meanwhile, ace pacer Mohammad Shami picked up a couple of wickets while the rest of the bowlers looked pale. Playing in their home condition, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel couldn’t impress with the ball and it a long time for Umesh Yadav to find the rhythm. Meanwhile, openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got a perfect start and the team would hope that they can take the play well on Day 3 to help India reinstate their position in the match.
