Indian batting stalwart Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh were captured sharing warm, candid moments during a high-profile cricket awards show in Mumbai on Tuesday, October 7. The star-studded event saw current and former cricketing legends from across the globe in attendance, while Rohit himself was honoured with a special memento recognising his achievements.

Though the evening celebrated cricketing excellence, the real highlight for many attendees was the endearing camaraderie between Rohit and Ritika. Adding a touch of entertainment to the night, viral mimicry artist Shaarang Shringarpure performed impeccable renditions of cricket icons MS Dhoni, Ricky Ponting, and Danny Morrison.
Rohit’s laughter was uncontainable, and Ritika was seen giggling alongside him as the artist’s performance unfolded, creating a lighthearted, memorable moment. This marked Rohit’s first public appearance since being relieved of India’s ODI captaincy ahead of the upcoming tour of Australia.

His appearance seemed to be a subtle message to selectors, reinforcing his commitment to continue contributing at the international level. Now retired from Tests and T20Is, the 38-year-old veteran could be eyeing the 2027 World Cup in South Africa as a swansong, even as Shubman Gill steps into the ODI captaincy to prepare India for the future.
During the awards, Rohit Sharma spoke enthusiastically about the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, emphasising the challenge of playing Down Under.

“I love playing against them. I love going to Australia. It’s a very challenging country to play cricket in. Hopefully, we can go there and do what the Indian team is supposed to do and get the result in our favour.”
The ODI series begins in Perth on October 19, with the remaining matches scheduled for Adelaide on October 23 and Sydney on October 25. Alongside Rohit, much attention will also be on the anticipated comeback of fellow Indian great, Virat Kohli.
