The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma has showered praises on the mentality of the young Indian pacer, Arshdeep Singh, who has managed to bounce back from his disappointment in the game against Pakistan. The 23-year-old dropped the catch of Asif Ali, which was termed as the turning point of the match by the netizens. While Singh did keep his cool in the final over, he was unable to defend seven runs in the final over of the game and Pakistan eventually managed to win the game by five wickets.
The left-arm fast bowler was brutally trolled on social media for his dropped catch, with some of the trolls being baseless. On Tuesday, the southpaw pacer was called upon once again to bowl the deciding over and almost managed to take India over the line. However, Sri Lanka also managed to win the game against India to hand Sharma and his men their second loss in the Super Fours stage.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, as quoted by News 18, Rohit Sharma praises Arshdeep Singh for his mentality to bounce back from his game against Pakistan and said he bowled the last two overs very well.
Explaining the same, Rohit Sharma said, “Yes, he [Arshdeep] himself was disappointed, but then again if you saw his confidence in the final over [in the Pakistan game], he nailed the yorker well and he got Ali [Asif] out [eventually]. If he was not been mentally there, the execution would not have happened, but in his case, he ran to his place and took the ball. Today also I thought he bowled pretty well in the last two overs.”
The India skipper added that Singh is a very confident cricketer and the team management is very happy with how he approaches the game in tense situations.

Talking about the youngster, Rohit Sharma said, “He is a very confident lad, and that is why he is here, ahead of a lot of players who are sitting at their homes. He is a very confident lad; I have not seen many like him early in his career. As a captain and a coach we are very happy with how he takes his game and goes about his business with the ball.”
