Rohit Sharma Speaks on Rishab Pant’s Challenge

The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has affected the world severely. It has brought the world to a standstill with many countries being completely lockdown for safety and to contain the spread of the virus. Many major sporting events have either been postponed or canceled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic affecting the globe. Cricket has also suffered a similar fate with many international and domestic matches being canceled. With no cricket going around and everyone in isolation for personal safety, many players and coaches are seen spending the free time on social media. On Wednesday, India opener Rohit Sharma organized a live Instagram session with Mumbai Indians’ teammate and pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

In the middle of the conversation between the Mumbai Indians duo, Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant claimed he can hit bigger sixes than Rohit. Rohit Sharma gave a fitting reply to the young player saying that Rishab has not even played cricket for more than one year and wants to battle him in hitting sixes.

“Mere sath usko karna hai? Sala ek saal hua nahi usko cricket khelke, chhakke ka competition kar rha hai,” Rohit Sharma said in his Instagram session.

Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma discussed many cricketing issues in the session and also expressed their disappointment over postponement of IPL.

The Indian teams’ sporting celebrities have also used their mass reach and following to spread awareness about the Corona Virus and urged people to stay safe.

From BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and other prominent cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, the Pathan brothers, Irrfan and Yusuf have donated money and decided to help the national and local governments fight the COVID-19 virus.

The pandemic spread of the COVID-19 Virus has affected more than 2,030 people in India taking away more than 50 lives. Originated in China, the virus has now affected more than 950,400 people taking 48,270 lives. The Indian government implemented a 3-week lockdown to contain the spread of the virus.
