The jubilant atmosphere within the MI camp served as a source of solace for fans, especially following their defeat in the inaugural fixture of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, March 24. Despite the setback, Rohit’s playful demeanour during the Holi celebration brought a sense of unity and positivity among the team members.

“Happy Holi, everyone! Brb, admin needs to get the phone repaired,” quipped the franchise in their caption accompanying the joyous post.

In their opening encounter against GT at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, MI opted to bowl first and managed to restrict GT to 168 runs, courtesy of stellar bowling performances from Jasprit Bumrah (3/14) and Gerald Coetzee (2/27). Sai Sudharsan’s resilient knock of 45 runs off 39 deliveries was noteworthy for the Titans. However, GT’s bowlers showcased formidable prowess, limiting MI to 162 runs in their chase.
