Amidst the pollution concern ahead of the first T20I of the three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, Rohit Sharma was seen walking off from the nets after being hit on the leg. The hosts have rested their regular skipper Virat Kohli for this series with Rohit taking over the leadership duties.
Though there haven’t been any further details on the injury, Rohit didn’t return to the nets. However, while he was in the middle, the Indian opener looked in good touch. He also stepped out on a couple of occasions to Shardul Thakur while also played his front foot cover drives to perfection.

As per the reports of the Hindustan Times, Sharma was hit on his leg when he was batting against India’s throwdown specialist Nuwan Seneviratne. Soon after being struck with the ball, he walked off the practice area and immediately took his gloves off. Meanwhile, India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour and Seneviratne tried to calm him down.
The injury didn’t seem too serious but Rohit not returning to bat is cause for concern for the Indian team ahead of the series opener. With Kohli not playing, it is important for him to play and lead from the front.
