Australia had a dream start to the ongoing second ODI at The Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur when the fiery pacer Pat Cummins provided the breakthrough in the first over of the match itself. It was the last ball of the opening over when India’s deputy skipper Rohit Sharma went for the short and wide ball outside the off-stump. However, the stylish batsman got a top edge which went straight to the throat of Adam Zampa, at third man as he took a comfortable catch.

The leg-spinner took a simple catch and Pat Cummins bowled a maiden-wicket over. Thus, Australia had a fine start in the second ODI. Meanwhile, India’s southpaw opener Shikhar Dhawan, who isn’t in the best of forms, is looking good. Dhawan is joined by Indian skipper Virat Kohli at the crease.

Earlier in the game, Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bowl first. The visitors have made a couple of changes to their playing XI as Nathan Lyon and Shaun Marsh have come in place of Jason Behrendorff and Ashton Turner.

On the other hand, the Nagpur pitch is looking good for the spinners. In fact, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was looking to bat first only and had no regrets of losing the toss. India currently leads the ongoing five-match series as they had won the first match by six wickets.

MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav had added 141 runs for the fifth wicket partnership to bail India out of trouble when they were tottering at 99-4. Jadhav scored 81 runs whereas MS Dhoni continued his love affair against the Australian bowlers and scored 59 runs. Sarma had scored 37 off 66 with the help of five boundaries in the first ODI at Hyderabad.

After Rohit’s early dismissal in Nagpur, Finch introduced spin as Glenn Maxwell came to bowl in the sixth over the innings.
