Former India captain Rohit Sharma unveiled the national side’s brand-new T20I jersey on Wednesday during the mid-innings break of the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur. Joining him on stage was young batter Tilak Varma, as BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and Adidas officials formally presented the fresh T20 World Cup kit. The moment, held under the bright lights of the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium, offered fans their first close look at the jersey India will sport as hosts of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

The new kit blends tradition with a modern identity. It features a deep royal blue base complemented by bold orange panels running along the sides, giving it a sharp, athletic finish. One of the most noticeable design changes is the placement of the Indian tricolour, which now sits proudly on the collar rather than the chest.
Vertical blue stripes flow across the front, adding texture and depth to the overall look while keeping the jersey aligned with India’s iconic colour scheme. Reflecting on India’s T20 World Cup journey, Rohit spoke with warmth and pride during the reveal.

“It’s been a long journey. We won our first World Cup in 2007, and we had to wait more than 15 years for the next one. There were plenty of ups and downs, but lifting the trophy again felt incredible. With the World Cup now happening in India, it’s going to be an exciting tournament. My best wishes are always with the team, and I’m sure the fans will back them all the way,” he said.
