Indian captain Rohit Sharma is currently in Sri Lanka and is preparing for the upcoming ODI series, starting on Friday, August 2. This will mark Rohit’s return to the international circuit after a fruitful T20 World Cup campaign in the Caribbean and the USA. Though most of it would be known to many, the great cricketer Rohit declared his retirement from T20Is after the World Cup. He had immediately done so after the grand finale against South Africa.

With his ever-sublime wit, Rohit recently featured in a video on the eve of the first ODI at Colombo. He spoke humorously about the past month and the victory in Barbados. In the video, he admitted that it feels quite surreal how the past month has been on his part while taking time out to enjoy the present feeling of guiding India to victory.
Rohit Sharma, who was born in Nagpur, joked about his comeback into T20Is before adding that now he moved on from the format and only plays One-Day Internationals and Tests.

Rohit called for a reset button to be pressed, asking the team to bring the same energy and passion to the ground as they start their new journey.

“It’s time to get back on the field, as a new era begins. A fresh start with a new coach. A partnership that is going to hold Indian cricket paramount. It’s time to hit the reset button. And now is the moment for us to get back on the field, with the same energy, with the same passion. Team India will enter the ground once again, with some new and some old faces. This is Team India, and this is your captain Rohit Sharma speaking,” he said.
His exuberance and positivity mirror his commitment to leading Team India through this transitional phase, blending excitement and experience. On the eve of the ODI series in Sri Lanka, the team will get ready for fans and players to witness Rohit’s leadership in action again.
