During the IPL 2021, MI bought the services of players like Nathan Coulter-Nile, Adam Milne, Piyush Chawla, James Neesham, Arjun Tendulkar, Yudhvir Charak, and Marco Jansen.

Mumbai Indians had on Thursday bid very smartly and got on board Nathan Coulter-Nile (₹5 crores), Adam Milne (₹3.2 crores), Piyush Chawla (₹2.4 crores), James Neesham (₹50 lakhs), Yudhvir Charak (₹20 lakhs), Marco Jansen (₹20 lakhs) and Arjun Tendulkar (₹lakh).

The focus for the defending champions was certainly their bowling attack which they managed to strengthen during the auctions. Right-arm fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile was the only player who they brought back into the squad, despite releasing him at the end of last season. But they managed to get him for a lesser price this time around.

He was previously brought for ₹8 crores and was released at the end of last season, and they got the fast bowler back again into the squad for ₹5 crores. The defending champions got the seven players for only ₹11.7 crores at the auctions on Thursday. A month prior to the auctions, they had released the same number of players, including Lasith Malinga, Mitch McClenaghan, James Pattinson, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Sherfane Rutherford, Prince Balwant Rai, and Digvijay Deshmukh.

MI’s Retained Players: Rohit Sharma, Aditya Tare, Anmolpreet Singh, Anukul Roy, Dhawal Kulkarni, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah, Jayant Yadav, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Quinton de Kock, Rahul Chahar, Suryakumar Yadav, Trent Boult, Chris Lynn, Saurabh Tiwary, Mohsin Khan
