Winning the toss, England opted to bat first, but India’s bowlers, led by Kuldeep Yadav, dismantled the English batting lineup. Kuldeep’s five-wicket haul, complemented by Ravichandran Ashwin’s four-wicket contribution, restricted England to a mere 218 runs. Zak Crawley’s 74 was the only notable contribution as other batters struggled.

Debutant Devdutt Padikkal (65) and Sarfaraz Khan (56) added valuable runs, guiding India to a total of 477 runs and a substantial lead of 259 runs.

In the second innings, England faltered again, managing only 195 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin’s five-wicket haul, supported by Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav’s two wickets each, ensured India’s dominance. Joe Root (84*) fought a lone battle for England, but the rest of the batting order struggled.
