Indore traffic police officer Ranjeet Singh recently took to his Facebook account to express his admiration for Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma and extend gratitude for a heartwarming gesture. Recounting an incident from India’s previous visit to Indore, Ranjeet shared that during that time, he had approached Rohit Sharma for an autograph, but due to the cricketer’s commitments, the request couldn’t be fulfilled.

To Ranjeet’s surprise and delight, during India’s recent visit to the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore for the second T20I against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma remembered the unfulfilled autograph request. The Mumbai maestro took the opportunity to give Ranjeet an autograph along with a heartfelt note.

The note expressed Rohit’s appreciation, saying, “Love your energy, wish you a lot of success.” The note, adorned with Rohit’s signature, has now become one of Ranjeet’s most cherished possessions.

In the ongoing three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two of India’s most seasoned players, returned to the T20I side after a hiatus of 14 months. While Kohli missed the first game in Mohali due to ‘personal reasons,’ he made a powerful comeback in the second match in Indore, contributing a brisk 29 runs off 16 balls.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma faced a challenging return to T20Is. In the first game, he was run out for a duck following a miscommunication with opening partner Shubman Gill. In the second match in Indore, Rohit was dismissed on the first ball he faced, bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi. Despite the individual challenges, Rohit led the team to a series victory, and he will be eager to make a significant contribution with the bat in the third T20I, scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, in Bengaluru.
