India’s skipper Rohit Sharma showcased remarkable athleticism to dismiss New Zealand’s in-form all-rounder Daryl Mitchell during the first innings of the third Test at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Mitchell, who had been batting confidently, was looking to push New Zealand’s score further when Rohit seized a critical moment in the slips.
On the first ball of the 66th over, bowled by Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell attempted a gentle shot to a ball pitched outside the off-stump. The ball, however, travelled low and fast towards Rohit at first slip, who reacted quickly, diving forward to complete a stunning catch. His exceptional reflexes and safe hands turned the tide for India, breaking a potentially dangerous stand.

Mitchell led their efforts with an impressive 82 off 129 balls, laced with three boundaries and three sixes, displaying his ability to handle India’s spinners on a challenging pitch. His innings, however, ended as he became the ninth batter to fall, leaving New Zealand’s tail to add just seven more runs before they were bowled out.
