Most Indian bowlers have stated that Rohit Sharma has been a leader and a motivator for them. The Indian captain this time around showed his unique way when he used a phrase in Sinhala-language spoken in Sri Lanka—to egg on his bowlers. Rohit was heard using the phrase in the seventh over of Sri Lanka’s innings when Axar Patel was bowling.

In what was a humorous moment, soon after Axar had delivered the fifth ball of the over, Rohit called out a couple of phrases that roughly translate for “That’s right, that’s right.” Much to the wicketkeeper’s, Rishabh Pant’s, amusement, it ended a funny moment in the game, re-affirming Rohit’s value in keeping the spirits high within the team.

By the time of filing this report, Sri Lanka was 93 for 1 in 22 overs. Actually, the hosts of the series had won the toss and batted first.
