Rohit Sharma’s on-field antics never fail to entertain, and during India’s Champions Trophy 2025 clash against New Zealand, his fielding effort took centre stage. While the Indian skipper is often in the spotlight for his humorous moments, this time, it was an unfortunate yet amusing incident involving his sunglasses.

During the 24th over, Rohit made a sharp dive to his right to stop a well-placed shot from Daryl Mitchell in the cover region. While his effort was commendable, his sunglasses weren’t as lucky. As he rolled over the ground, his glasses got crushed beneath him, breaking into pieces. Rohit was later seen gathering the shattered remains, creating a lighthearted moment that quickly grabbed fans’ attention.

Earlier, India posted 249 runs, recovering from a shaky 30/3 start. Shreyas Iyer played a crucial knock of 79 off 98 balls, with key contributions from Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya. However, New Zealand’s Matt Henry stole the show with a brilliant five-wicket haul.
In response, India managed to pick up three wickets, but Kane Williamson stood firm, guiding the Kiwis through the chase. With plenty of batting firepower left, New Zealand remained a serious threat, especially as the pitch began assisting the spinners.
