Rohit Sharma steered the Indian cricket team to a crucial 106-run victory over England in the second Test, leveling the five-match series at 1-1. In contrast to criticism he faced for his defensive leadership in the series opener, Rohit displayed active on-field involvement in Vizag, constantly motivating his players to bring out their best.

A viral video on social media captured a moment where Rohit could be heard scolding his teammates, saying, “mere gale ka waat lag gaya chilla chilla ke tum sab ko (my throat has started to pain because of how much I have been shouting at you guys).”

The win was significant for India, helping them level the series, but England’s Bazball approach continued to put pressure on the hosts. Defending a 399-run target, India managed to dismiss England for 292, thanks to stellar performances by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin, who claimed three wickets each.

Bumrah’s crucial six-wicket haul in England’s first innings total of 253 played a key role, helping India secure a substantial lead of 143. Rohit praised Bumrah and the entire bowling unit for their collective effort in wrapping up England’s innings during the second session.

“He is a champion player for us (Bumrah), he has done the job for us for a while. When you win a game like that, you have to look at the overall performance as well. We were good with the bat. Winning a Test in these conditions is not easy. Wanted our bowlers to step up, and they did that,” expressed Rohit Sharma during the post-match presentation.
