India locked horns with Pakistan in the super our stage of the game in Dubai. In the 18th over of the second innings bowled by Ravi Bishnoi, a couple of nerve-wracking moments took place as Asif Ali got lifelines on back-to-back deliveries once through a DRS call and the other one by the dropped catch by Arshdeep Singh.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to field first. Mohammed Hasnain came in place of Shahnawaz Dahani, who was ruled out of the contest with a side strain. Team India had a total of 3 changes – out of which 2 were forced. Ravindra Jadeja is out of the tournament due to a knee injury while Avesh Khan is down with a fever. Dinesh Karthik was dropped from the XI, with the team management needing a southpaw like Rishabh Pant.
Owing to a fifty from Virat Kohli, India had reached a total of 181 and Pakistan needed 34 runs off the last three overs. On the third ball of the over of Bishnoi, he dragged a shot ball that was sliding down the leg, Asif Ali missed the pull shot and the umpire called it wide but India decided to take DRS.
The third umpire kept on checking against and against as there was a slight murmur on the snick when the ball was passing the bat/glove, but eventually, the on-field decision stayed.
On the very next delivery, Bishnoi delivered a full ball outside off and Asif Ali went for the slog sweep but ends up top-edging it towards short third. It’s a dolly but thinks Arshdeep Singh took a touch casually and dropped the ball. The drop made the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma furious.

It was the team that failed. Not Arshdeep Singh. We are with him. He bowled the best. Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not deliver.
