New Zealand cricket great Ross Taylor has officially begun a new chapter in his career, donning the Samoa national cricket jersey for the first time on Tuesday, September 23. In a moving team ceremony, Taylor not only received his new kit but also joined his teammates and officials in performing a traditional Samoan cultural dance, symbolising his deep connection to his heritage. The moment, captured on camera, has quickly resonated with fans worldwide.

Taylor, who retired from international cricket in 2022, made a surprise comeback this year after being invited to lead Samoa, the country of his mother’s birth. Samoa, a proud island nation in Polynesia, is gearing up for its T20 World Cup qualifiers, with its campaign set to begin against Oman on October 8 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Muscat.
