Roston Chase’s remarkable catch removed Tilak Varma from the crease in the crucial series-deciding match between India and West Indies in Lauderhill, Florida. As India faced early setbacks with the loss of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma aimed to stabilize the innings. However, Roston Chase’s brilliance added to India’s troubles, taking an exceptional catch to dismiss Varma.

During his innings, Varma attempted to drive Roston Chase’s delivery to long-off, but his shot didn’t connect properly. The ball hit the toe end of the bat and veered towards the right of the bowler. With a full-stretch dive to his right, Roston Chase managed to take a one-handed catch. The third umpire confirmed the clean catch after reviewing the replay footage.

Varma contributed a valuable 27 runs off 18 balls, including three fours and two sixes. His performance made him the leading run-scorer in the ongoing T20I series against West Indies. Making his debut in the first match, the left-hander showcased his stability and consistency throughout the series.

In the series opener, Varma delivered a quickfire 39 runs, followed by an impressive half-century in the second match. He continued his form with an unbeaten 49 runs in the third game and a steady 7 runs in the fourth. Overall, he accumulated a total of 173 runs in five games, establishing himself as the top run-scorer of the series.
