The veteran Indian pacer, S Sreesanth opined that Bhuvneshwar Kumar shouldn’t lose faith in his abilities amidst the poor run of form for India at the highest level. Although India registered a 2-1 series win over Australia in the three-match T20I series, the 32-year-old Bhuvneshwar looked off color. The speedster picked up only one wicket and conceded 91 runs in seven overs at an expensive economy rate of 13.
S Sreesanth said that the Indian team management shouldn’t lose faith in Bhuvneshwar and should rather support the fast bowler to come good. Sreesanth, who is currently taking part in the Legends League Cricket, was of the opinion that Bhuvneshwar should be backed the way Dinesh Karthik was when the latter was trying to break into the Indian team.

During a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, S Sreesanth said, “If you bowl good balls, there are 60-70% chances of being hit. Sometimes, it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. We have to support Bhuvneshwar Kumar, just like (we have to support) Dinesh Karthik when it comes to batting. I’m very confident about his experience and ability to swing the ball; he has a back-of-the-length slower ball, he has got the knuckleball.”
He further added, “If he varies his pace on the hard bouncy wickets, he will get good help on Australian pitches. If Bhuvneshwar Kumar is listening to this most often they don’t do it but my only request is to never ever stop believing in your abilities. Sometimes, you really stop believing in your abilities. Sometimes, you get confused. Sometimes, you read a lot, and watch a lot of videos. Sometimes, you listen to a lot of opinions on the commentary.”
Elaborating it further, S Sreesanth said, “Even I have done that; everyone goes through that phase. But you got to believe in the immense ability that has got you here and made you the king. You got to believe in the higher power and trust your work ethics.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is expected to play a crucial role when the Indian team takes part in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. However, Kumar isn’t a part of the Indian squad that is set to play three T20Is against South Africa to start on Wednesday, September 28.
