S Sreesanth Reveals The Truth Behind The ‘Slapgate’

Former Indian pacer, S Sreesanth had to deal with a lot of controversies all through his career. Talk about the face-off with Andre Nel in a Test match or mocking Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden after sending them back to the pavilion in the semi-final of the World T20 2007, the discarded cricketer has had a taste of all.

Nonetheless, an altercation which everyone can recall in which involved Sreesanth and fellow countryman Harbhajan Singh as the latter slapped the fast bowler when he wished him ‘hard luck’ since Harbhajan’s team Mumbai Indians lost their third consecutive match during the first season of IPL in 2008.

The infamous incident took place when Sreesanth was captured by TV cameras crying uncontrollably before the presentation ceremony. In spite of the incident getting huge attention, the two Indian cricketers patched up and the fast bowler referred to Harbhajan as his elder brother. Bhajji who was part of the Mumbai Indians’ set up was banned for the rest of the tournament after he was found guilty.

Every now and then Sreesanth has talked about the saga, but recently, in the Big Boss house disseminated some surprising news about it in the Big Boss House. The Kerala fast bowler is known for his over-exaggerated gestures, especially while celebrating a wicket and is also known for his emotional reactions as well. He has been handed out several warnings by the BCCI on account of discipline and the violation of the code of conduct.

Sreesanth had been banned for life when during the 2013 season of IPL, he was alleged for involvement in spot-fixing. He has been fighting the case in the courts but the BCCI hasn’t budged from its stance.
