Indian captain Virat Kohli gave it back to his critics with a master class innings in Centurion Test against South Africa. His 153 led Indian score to 307 all-out and gave a 28-run lead to their opposition on day three.

Overnight batsmen Kohli and Hardik Pandya started the proceedings with ease but letter threw his wicket in the poorest possible manner as he didn’t land hit bat despite reaching in the crease and a direct-hit by Vernon Philander caught him short.

Ashwin then joined his skipper in the middle and added a crucial 71-run stand, which reduced Africa’s deficit. However, new ball did batter of him and two wickets in no time push India on the back foot. Morne Morkel was the pick of the bowlers with his four-fer in the first innings.

Jasprit Bumrah was in some mood today as he took India to a flier with two wickets in no time and both deliveries were unplayable, which took Aiden Markram and Hashim Amla with them. Ravichandran Ashwin kept one end tight with his tradition off-spin, but couldn’t manage any reward despite producing several close calls.

AB de Villiers led South Africa’s rescue act with a counter-punching half-century and shared yet another crucial stand with Dean Elgar, who was very ugly throughout his stay at the crease. The session of the day was cut short by rain and some bad light, where teams lost over 25 overs.

The honors were shared by both teams in this day but being 90/2 South Africa has their nose ahead as India has to play fourth innings on this pitch, which has started misbehaving.
