Former India wicketkeeper Saba Karim said that Team India is extremely lucky to have two talented youngsters like Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant, who have batting mindsets similar to MS Dhoni. He also went on to say that he expects both Pant and Kishan to do well for India and play in all three formats of the game.

During a discussion on India News, Saba Karim said, “It seems like that. If the Indian team can get two Dhoni’s, there cannot be a bigger thing than that. The fearless and carefree manner in which both these players have played and they know what their roles are and showed amazing aggression and that too with calculated risks.”

Karim also said that both Kishan and Pant are run-away match-winners and that the Indian team is blessed to have them for the shortest format of the game.

Saba Karim explained, “Both the batsmen have always attempted to prove themselves as match-winners. Earlier Rishabh Pant proved that and now when Ishan Kishan has been given an opportunity, his mindset has also been similar. So I feel India is blessed to have match-winning ability players like Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant in the shorter format of the game. I have full confidence that in the future Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant will represent India in all three formats.”

Rishabh Pant has been in incredible form since the Australian tour and continued his form against England in the Test series. Ishan Kishan made his T20I debut in the 2nd T20I against England on Sunday and lead from the front with a 32-ball 56 and was declared the Player of the Match.

Both the youngster rubbed shoulders with each other for India U-19 World Cup side in 2016 and Karim reckons that their foundation is solid and they both can handle the pressures of international cricket.
