Tendulkar leads WHO’s Challenge, Athletes follow

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has taken part in WHO’s #SafeHandsChallenge. The little master decided to promote the importance of washing hands and public safety due to the pandemic outbreak of CoronaVirus.

In a video posted by the Master Blaster on the social media platform, Twitter, Sachin is seen washing his hands and talking about the importance of using soap while washing hands. Sachin Tendulkar, popularly known as the “God of Cricket” has a wide following across the globe. The legendary Indian batsman also ranks amongst the highest followed athletes on social media handles.

Various star athletes from all across India and different sports fields have joined in the #SafeHandsChallenge initiative by the World Helth Organization. The main achievable objective of WHO from the #SafeHandsChallenge is to spread the importance of hygiene and washings hands with soap in the current scenario.

Indian track and field athlete Hima Das also took up the #SafeHands challenge. Hima urged sporting legends like Tendulkar, MC Mary Kom, Sania Mirza and Rani Rampal to take accept the challenge and post a video of themselves doing it. All the challenges’ video are expected to create awareness and spread the message of safety among the general public.

Earlier, ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu also took up the challenge and had posted a video on Twitter of the same. Sindhu is seen washing her hands with soap for 30 seconds in an attempt to spread awareness.

The World Health Organisation has been continuously asking people to wash their hands with soap regularly to avoid infection. The widespread of CoronaVirus has affected across the globe significantly. More than 1,80,000 people are tested positive from the deadly virus. Covid-19 has also lead to more than 7000 deaths across the globe. 126 people are affected by Covid-19 in India, killing 3 people.
