Recently, the cricketing legend, 51, with his wife Anjali and daughter Sara, visited Rashtrapati Bhavan as personal guests of Indian President Droupadi Murmu. Tendulkar was a part of the *Rashtrapati Bhavan Vimarsh Shrinkhala*, an initiative to have insightful discussions with distinguished personalities. The President later shared a post on social media, saying that she had an engaging session with the cricketing icon.

“Cricket legend Shri Sachin Tendulkar along with his family members called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Later, in an interactive session under the RB initiative ‘Rashtrapati Bhavan Vimarsh Shrinkhala,’ he shared principles of motivation through anecdotes from his own journey as a cricketer,” the President wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

During the session, Tendulkar reflected on the lessons cricket teaches, emphasizing how the game treats everyone equally and fosters teamwork. He shared fascinating anecdotes about his long-time opening partner Virender Sehwag and the resilience of Yuvraj Singh during the 2011 World Cup.

With Sehwag, he would often do the opposite of what I suggested. If I wanted him to defend for a few overs, I’d tell him, ‘Viru, go and blast the bowlers.’ He would then say, ‘No paaji, I think I should defend first.’ I knew exactly how to get the best out of him,” Tendulkar recalled with a smile.

He also shared a beautiful memory with Yuvraj Singh when the left-hander was unaware of the cancer he was unknowingly fighting in the 2011 World Cup. “I invited Yuvi for dinner one evening and noticed he looked low on energy

He confided, ‘Paaji, I’m not timing the ball well.’ I told him to forget about batting and focus on fielding, setting small goals. I reassured him, ‘Yuvi, you will matter when it matters.’ Soon, his energy returned and he played a defining role in India’s victory,” Tendulkar shared. Even today, his words and experiences continue to inspire, proving that legends never truly retire.
