Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman Set to Return to Cricket Advisory Committee

Former Indian cricketers, as well as, legends Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman are all set to return to the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) which will be formed on Saturday, months after their resign from their respective posts due to conflict of interest allegations.

According to a top BCCI official, both Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman who both had resigned in July will resume their respective roles in the CAC soon. Earlier current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, who was the third member of the CAC, had also resigned.

“Sachin and Laxman are likely to get back to CAC,” a top BCCI official said to PTI on condition of anonymity.

The BCCI led by Ganguly will hold it’s 88th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday in Mumbai at the BCCI headquarters whereas the Apex Council meeting will take place on Saturday.

“The Committee will be formed at Apex Council meeting tomorrow. CAC will take a call on selection committee also,” the source said.

The CAC which was comprised of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly had come under the scanner for the conflict of interest allegations against them in complaints before the BCCI Ethics Officer D K Jain for their respective jobs in the respective IPL franchises.
