Team India has almost made inroads into the Australian batting by reducing them to 191/7 at the end of Day 2, after being bowled out for 250 in their first innings against Australia in the ongoing first Test at the Adelaide Oval. Despite the fact that Australia showed some caution in their batting, but the Indian bowlers were way better for them.
Ishant Sharma was the one who drew the first blood with a peach of a delivery to get one through the gates to send back opener Aaron Finch for a duck off the very first over of the Australian innings. Then Ravichandran Ashwin took over and before lunch, had gotten rid of debutant opener Marcus Harris.
In the second session, the offspinner landed two more blows as he dismissed Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh. Australia were reduced to 89/4 in 39.3 overs. Following their departures, the pair of Peter Handscome and Travis Head began the repair work and Australia reached the three figures in 47.1 overs, but in the third session they lost three more wickets of, Handscombe, Tim Paine and Pat Cummins.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar praised Indian bowlers for maintaining a tight grip over the proceedings and not allowing the batsmen any freebies. But said that the defensive tactic employed by the home batsmen was something he’s never seen before.
Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar wrote, “#TeamIndia should make the most of this situation and not lose their grip. The defensive mindset by the Australian batsmen at home is something I’ve not seen before in my experience. @ashwinravi99 has been very effective and has played a role to help the team be on top, for now.”
