Sachin Tendulkar Comments on Pragyan Ojha’s Retirement

India player Pragyan Ojha announced his retirement on Friday. After his retirement, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar wished him on his retirement and said ‘You made my last Test special by picking 10 wickets’. However, Ojha announced his retirement from international cricket.

Tendulkar took to Twitter and shared a picture of his with his former teammate where he captioned the photo as, “@pragyanojha, it was always great to see your big heart & skill at work. You made my last Test special by picking 10 wickets. Welcome to the second innings club, my friend!”

Ojha last played an international game way back in 2013 which was also the retirement match for Sachin Tendulkar at the Wankhede Stadium. Another former cricketer VVS Laxman also congratulated Ojha on his retirement and wished him success for his future.

“Congratulations @pragyanojha on a wonderful career. Was great being part of your journey and see you evolve from a young talented spinner to a world-class bowler. Wishing you a successful and fruitful 2nd innings” Laxman wrote on the microblogging website.

Ojha had made his international debut way back in 2008 against Bangladesh in Karachi and after one year he made his Test debut against Sri Lanka as well. The spinner then played 24 Tests, 18 ODIs and 6 T20Is for India and finished with a total of 144 wickets across formats. In Tests, he managed to take 113 wickets, with the best bowling figures of 6 for 47. He last played in 2018 during a first-class match in Dehradun. He also played in the Indian Premier League for the Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians.

Announcing his retirement, Ojha addedd, “To be an Indian cricketer and represent the country at the highest level was always a dream I cherished as a youngster. My eventful career has witnessed many ups and downs. Over a period of time, I have realised that the legacy of a sportsperson is not just the outcome of his hard work and dedication, but also the faith and guidance bestowed upon by the association (team management), teammates, coaches, trainers, and the fans.”
