Ahead of the blockbuster final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Bhuvneshwar received glowing praise from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who highlighted the bowler’s ability to evolve and stay effective in a format increasingly dominated by batters. Bhuvneshwar has enjoyed a remarkable season, claiming 26 wickets in 15 matches while maintaining an economy rate of eight runs per over. His impact has been particularly significant during the powerplay, where his accuracy and control have consistently put opposition batting units under pressure.

Sachin Tendulkar believes one of the biggest reasons behind Bhuvneshwar’s success this season has been a subtle but highly effective adjustment in his bowling approach. “Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been bowling really well this season. In the previous seasons, he had a lengthy outswinger or inswinger. He has developed a variation this season. He has been bowling as straight as possible. When you want to bowl a lengthy outswinger or inswinger, the seam has to be pointing towards the first slip or leg slip. This season, his seam has been wobbly.”

“When there is wobble seam, even the batter cannot make out whether the ball would come in or go out. That is what he has been doing. He has been very accurate. His lines have been very accurate. That has been Bhuvi’s success mantra this season. Well done, Bhuvi.”

Even when fellow quicks Josh Hazlewood and Jacob Duffy have come under pressure, Bhuvneshwar has repeatedly delivered crucial breakthroughs and economical spells, helping RCB maintain control during key phases of matches.

Earlier this season, Virat Kohli also praised the veteran seamer, explaining that Bhuvneshwar’s effectiveness comes from mastering the basics rather than relying on extravagant swing. “What is Bhuvi doing? He is not bowling banana inswingers, banana outswingers. He is bowling at a length that tells the guys that I am good enough to hit the length every time. It is the most difficult length to hit, and I am just gonna keep hitting those lengths. Are you good enough to take me on or not?”

Kohli further credited Bhuvneshwar’s consistency and discipline as the foundation of his outstanding season.

“It’s simple stuff. It’s repetition, it’s execution, uncomplicated consistency backed with tremendous belief. That’s all he is doing. Look at the results.”
