“On the whole if I see we have been playing good cricket because that balance allows us to play on any part of the world and on any surface,” Sachin Tendulkar said when he was asked about India’s hope to win in the World Cup.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in Australia in October next year, and teams will be hoping to sort out the combinations as early as possible. However, India will get several chances to work on their team as they are to play two other T20I series – against Sri Lanka and New Zealand – and the Asia Cup before the World Cup. The 4th episode of ‘India Today Inspiration’ which is all set to be aired on December 21 at 6 pm, IST will have Sachin Tendulkar in a candid chat with India Today Consulting Editor, Sports, Boria Majumdar.

“There are some teams who can challenge us. It will be nice to see how we can go there and produce some quality cricket which we are fully capable of,” Sachin Tendulkar said.

India have proved their strength in the Test format already and also in the 50-over game but the T20I format, arguably, have been their weak spot, given they are ranked 5th in the ICC ranking as well. In the past one year, India have managed to win only 4 T20I series out of the 8 they have played since November 2018. This also includes two successive series loss against New Zealand and Australia.
