Australian opening batter David Warner recently opened up on many interesting questions, relating to his taste, favorite and inspiring cricketers as well as food. When asked who the inspiring figure in his cricket career was, Warner took three names: Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne and Ricky Ponting. “I wanted to play how they played the game. I wanted to be a leg spinner, Gilchrist was an opening dasher and Ricky Ponting – one of our best cricketers ever,” said David Warner.

David Warner’s choice of Dhoni as the best finisher in the world is a testament to the Indian’s legacy. Dhoni was one of the greatest ODI batters of all time, and his ability to finish chases was unmatched. He led India to victory on numerous occasions, even in the most difficult of situations.

David Warner also picked MS Dhoni as the greatest finisher in the history of the game. “For me, it’s MS Dhoni,” he said. “He was, indeed, one of the finest ODI batters the world saw, especially when it came to the chases. Dhoni’s legacy will be known for the ICC trophies he won and the chases he pulled off from difficult situations.”

Warner’s choice of Kallis as the greatest cricketer of all time is also a well-deserved one. Kallis was a complete all-rounder, who excelled with both bat and ball. He is the only player to have scored over 10,000 runs and taken over 250 wickets in both Test and ODI cricket.

David Warner’s desire to open the innings with Tendulkar and Hayden is also understandable. Tendulkar is the leading run-scorer in both Test and ODI cricket, while Hayden is one of the most destructive opening batsmen of all time.

Overall, Warner’s answers to the questions give us a glimpse into his personality and cricketing philosophy. He is a player who admires greatness, and he is always striving to improve his own game.
