Sachin Tendulkar Pays Tribute To Michael Holding As He Retires As A Commentator

Legendary Indin cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday paid tribute to West Indies fast bowler, Michael Holding, who is set to retire from commentary at the end of the 2021 season. Holding has been a commentator for nearly two decades, having started his career behind the microphone in 1988, a year after he retired from his distinguished career as a player.

Tweeting bout the sme, Shin Tendulkar wrote: “Congratulations on a wonderful career in broadcasting, Michael Holding. Your voice will be missed by millions across the globe. I loved the way you put your point of view across, and found your opinions unbiased and balanced. Take care, stay healthy and enjoy your retirement.”

Legendary West Indies cricketer, Michael Holding has been a part of the Sky Sports commentary team for over two decades. He has been known for been forthright and outspoken in his opinions on topics on and off the cricket field.

Holding had earlier indicated that he might not choose to continue doing commentary beyond the year 2021. s per the quotes in PTI, Michael Holding said, “I am not too sure how much further than 2020 I will be going with commentary. I cannot see myself going much further down the road at my age. I am 66 years old now, I am not 36, 46, or 56.”

He further added, “I told (Sky) that I could not commit to more than a year at a time. If this year gets totally destroyed, I might have to think about 2021 because I can’t just walk away from Sky, a company that has done so much good for me.”

Michael Holding has always been known for being a legendary fast bowler from the Caribbean islands s he use are quite a few batsmen with his fire pe during his hay days.
