Sachin Tendulkar Praises Fellow Indians for Janta Curfew

Indian Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has praised the efforts of fellow citizens of India for coming together while staying at home and supporting the people working in the field of essential services. People like the local law enforcement officers, doctors, nurses, shopkeepers, and medical shop owners have been working overtime to help the commoners in every way possible to fight the pandemic spread of Covid 19.

On Sunday, the Indian Prime Minister had urged the citizens of India to observe a ‘Janta Curfew’ and clap for 5 mins at 5 pm to express gratitude for the people who are working in health care and other basic service providers. The Pm’s initiative received an overwhelming response as citizens stood in their balconies maintaining distance and still clapped for the brave-hearts on Sunday.

Sachin Tendulkar took to the social media platform of Twitter and shared a video of himself addressing the citizens of India. He followed up by clapping hands to support the initiative started by Narendra Modi.

“Today India came together even while staying in our homes. While we are at home there are many who are selflessly performing their duties. Thank you to each one of you for putting us before yourself. The discipline and commitment we showed today needs to continue,” Tendulkar said in his tweet.

As urged by PM Modi, The national curfew silence was broken by the commoners as everyone was heard clapping, ringing bells and blowing conch shells for 5 minutes at 5 pm.

Sunday evening saw hundred and thousand of people from all parts of the city coming out of their houses and standing in their home balconies to clap and cheer for the policemen, doctors, nurses and other people working in the essential services sector for rising their lives amid the coronavirus outbreak to serve others.

The Indian sports fraternity stars like Bajrang Punia, Mirabai Chanu, Hima Das Anil Kumble, Virender Sehwag,  has also hailed the national wide moment and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative.
