Sachin Tendulkar recently sanctioned INR 40 lakh for development of a school

For making the development of a school infrastructure in Kupwara district of North Kashmir, legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has recently sanctioned INR 40 lakh from the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD).

The name of this school is Imperial Educational Institute Drugmulla, which established in 2007 and only educational institute in Drugmulla. It is a co-ed school that runs from class one to ten where almost total 1,000 students are studying at present under total 50 teachers.

During that sanction, Tendulkar’s request to include the construction of a school building with 10 classrooms, four laboratories, administrative block, six toilets and an assembly/prayer hall.

Tendulkar wrote during that sanction, “Further to the scrutiny, technical, financial and administrative sanctions may be issued within 75 days of the receipt of this letter. The sanctioned letter should be approved and completed if they are compliant under the guidelines of MPLAD scheme.”

While the school team including the students are very happy with this sanction, Jammu and Kashmir government also thankful to Sachin Tendulkar.

Mehbooba Mufti, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, recently posted on her Tweeter account, “Thankful to @sachin_rt for using his MPLAD funds for the construction of a school building in Kashmir. Even off the field, he continues to inspire us all.”

Meanwhile, the chairman of Imperial Educational Institute Drugmulla, Ghulam Mohammad Hajam said, “Tendulkar met us in Mumbai last year. We introduced ourselves and he asked me and my partner, Altaf Shah, about our vocation and we informed him that we were running a public school in a remote area of the Kashmir valley. We told him that due to inadequate funds we could not establish the school on modern lines. However, Tendulkar promised to provide the funds out of his MPLAD. We got to know about the sanction of Rs 40 lakh only last night, through the media.”

A class X student of that school, Aabroo Nazir is feeling very happy as she said, “Now the students expect a modern laboratory and library.”

According to the reports, Tendulkar has already sanctioned more than INR 7 crore through MPLAD scheme for the development of 20 schools and educational institutes in all over India.
