Sachin Tendulkar Reminisces His Golden Days With Yorkshire

Recalling the golden days of his career, legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar on Friday revealed that it was his stint in county cricket with Yorkshire in 1992 that helped him understand the English conditions in a better way. In an Instagram post, the batting legend revealed that as a 19-year-old, his “special stint” with Yorkshire helped him gain exposure.

Captioning the post on Instagram, Tendulkar wrote: “Flashback to my county cricket days! As a 19-year-old cricketer, playing for @Yorkshireccc was a special stint as it helped me gain exposure & better understanding of English conditions. Fond memories!”

The legendary batsman had an illustrious career in cricket, creating several records. Tendulkar made his debut in Test cricket on November 15, 1989. In the same year, on December 18, he played his first ODI. He featured in the Indian team in six World Cups during his glittering career that lasted for 24 years. He was a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad.

The cricketing stalwart has the most number of runs in Test cricket as he scored 15,921 runs. Along the way, Sachin scored 51 Test centuries, most by any player. Things are no different in ODI cricket as Sachin is leading the charts for most runs in this format as well. He has accumulated 18,426 runs in ODIs, including 49 centuries.

Currently, India is going through a nationwide lockdown. Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 59800 with almost 1990 people losing their lives on Wednesday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Almost the entire is in a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
