Sachin revealed that during India’s preparatory camp in Bengaluru, he received a phone call informing him that Sathya Sai Baba had sent him a book. What seemed like a simple gesture soon became a powerful source of strength for the veteran, who knew the 2011 edition would be his final World Cup.

“At that stage, emotions were running high,” the 52-year-old recalled. “When I received that book, it instantly brought a smile to my face. I felt this World Cup was meant to be special. It gave me confidence, inner belief, and what athletes call the spring in their legs.”

That book accompanied Tendulkar throughout India’s campaign, one that ended with a historic victory over Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium. Reflecting on that night, the Master Blaster said it remained the most cherished moment of his career.

“We all know what happened in Mumbai. The entire nation was celebrating together. It was truly a golden moment. I haven’t experienced anything like it again,” Sachin Tendulkar said, reliving the emotional scenes of April 2, 2011, when India lifted the trophy after 28 years.

Sachin Tendulkar credited that triumph not just to the team’s performance but also to the blessings they received along the way. “All of it was possible because of the well-wishers, our gurus, and above all, Baba’s blessings,” he added. The cricket legend said the book reassured him through every challenge, strengthening his belief that he was never alone on the field.

“It reminded me to face every challenge without fear because Baba is with you,” Sachin concluded, offering a rare glimpse into the spiritual support system behind his greatest cricketing achievement.
