2006 – Scored his 40th ODI century, 141* (148), with the help of 13 fours & five sixes against West Indies in a Man-of-the-Match performance at Kuala Lumpur. Making a comeback into the team, the master blaster opened the innings with Rahul Dravid and remained unbeaten till the end. With a supporting half-century from Irfan Pathan, India scored 309-5 in 50 overs. As luck would have it, West Indies won the match by 29 runs (D/L Method). 2009 – Scored his 44th ODI century, 138 (133) with the help of 10 fours & a six against Sri Lanka in a Man-of-the-Match performance at Colombo. Opening the batting once again with Dravid, the duo provided India with a solid start in the final of Compaq Cup. With half-centuries from MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, India scored 319-5 in 50 overs.
