The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) faced heat during the third day’s play of the ongoing Headingley Test between England and India. A plane flew over the stadium with a message asking to remove ECB.
The third Test of the five-match series is going on in Leeds where England have had the upper hand since the game started.

Meanwhile, a plane flew over the stadium with a message stating “Sack the ECB and save Test cricket.”
The incident occurred during the 25th over of the second innings of India during the second session.

On the match’s front, Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first at Headingley while naming an unchanged playing XI. Joe Root was looking to bowl first, as he mentioned at the toss, and brought Dawid Malan and Craig Overton in the playing XI in place of Dom Sibley and Mark Wood.
James Anderson ripped India’s top-order apart in his opening spell, where he registered the figures of 8-5-6-3. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma tried to control the damage but India lost a flurry of wickets towards the end as they collapsed for 78 in the first innings.

Anderson and Overton snared three wickets apiece while Sam Curran and Ollie Robinson grabbed two wickets each.
In response, England got off to a good start for a change as Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed gave them a solid 135-run opening stand and drove their team into the lead. Both openers got out after scoring their respective fifties.
Dawid Malan enjoyed his comeback in Test cricket with a fine fifty and got out after scoring 70 runs. Meanwhile, Joe Root looked set when he came out to bat and stroked his way to yet another Test hundred in 2021.
England finished their innings after scoring 432 runs and took a 354-run lead at the halfway of the Test.
