Left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore has quietly become one of the standout performers for Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL 2025. Against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, the 28-year-old delivered a composed and clinical spell that played a crucial role in GT’s dominant win. Bowling with classical control and subtle variations, Sai Kishore returned with excellent figures of 4-0-24-2, maintaining a tidy economy of just 6.00 runs per over.

His victims were no pushovers either. He first dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy, who had looked promising at the crease, and then took out the ever-dangerous Heinrich Klaasen, halting SRH’s momentum just as they were looking to accelerate. With Mohammed Siraj operating brilliantly from the other end and picking up a four-wicket haul, Kishore’s restrictive spell ensured that Hyderabad never really took off with the bat.

After the match, the usually soft-spoken Sai gave fans a rare glimpse into his emotional connection with the sport. In a post-match interview shared by the IPL, he spoke about how cricket has shaped him—both as a person and as a professional.

“Cricket teaches you so much—discipline, resilience, and the hunger to keep going,” said Sai Kishore. “It’s still the most important thing in my life. All those early mornings, the four sessions a day when no one was watching—it feels good when it pays off. But this is just the beginning. We want to win more games for Gujarat, and hopefully, the trophy too.”

What stands out about Gujarat Titans this season is their team chemistry, something Kishore also acknowledged. “We’re playing a great brand of cricket, and more importantly, we’re enjoying each other’s success. That’s the kind of space every cricketer wants to be in,” he added.

The same video also featured Washington Sundar, who is both Kishore’s GT and Tamil Nadu teammate. The all-rounder made a vital contribution with the bat in the same game and was full of gratitude towards his team’s camaraderie.

“Honestly, it’s been amazing. I’ve prepared well over the last few weeks, and having the team cheer me on every ball—it just lifts you,” Sundar told Kishore with a warm smile.
