Wife of former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni, Sakshi has lashed out at the media houses for spreading false news. Her reaction comes just hours after news of her husband donating to the daily wage workers to combat coronavirus pandemic started doing the rounds. Media reports suggested that the former India skipper has donated ₹1 lakh via crowdfunding website Ketto to the Mukul Madhav Foundation, a public charitable trust in Pune.

Pune has been one of the worst-affected cities by the outbreak in India. So far more than 15 positive cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in the city. Some of the reports have suggested that Dhoni’s donation will be used to provide basic grocery essentials to the families of daily wage workers in the city.

The reports also suggested that the foundation has identified several families across Pune, who will be helped by MS Dhoni’s donation. However, it looks like the news was fake. Sakshi took to Twitter to lash out at the media houses for spreading the news without verifying it. While she did not reveal the news she was talking about, it seems pretty clear that she was mentioning the news of her husband’s donation.

Sakshi’s hard tweet read: “I request all media houses to stop carrying out false news at sensitive times like these ! Shame on You ! I wonder where responsible journalism has disappeared !”

Before the tweet from Sakshi, the former Indian skipper was also slammed by a number of fans after news came out that he donated just ₹1 lakh. Meanwhile, the cricket fraternity has put their hand up to help the country in such a difficult scenario. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan and Pathan brothers – Irfan and Yusuf – helped the needy.
