Indian cricket fans might get to see their favorite cricketers on the big screen in the future, as Sakshi Dhoni, wife of legendary cricketer MS Dhoni, revealed that he is open to acting if the right script comes along. While promoting her debut film as a producer, the Tamil movie “LGM (Let’s Get Married),” Sakshi shared Dhoni’s potential interest in acting.
She mentioned, “If there’s something good, he might do it. He is not camera-shy. He has been acting in advertisements since 2006, and he is not afraid of facing the camera. So, he might do it if there’s something good.” When asked about the genre Dhoni would prefer, Sakshi replied, “Action. He is always in action.”

LGM director Ramesh Thamilmani also expressed his desire to see Dhoni in a superhero film, considering him a real-life superhero due to his legendary cricketing career. Sakshi also explained the reason for her investment in a Tamil film, citing Dhoni’s strong attachment to the state of Tamil Nadu, where he serves as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings cricket team.

Sakshi Dhoni mentioned that starting with a small project was a deliberate choice for her debut film as a producer. She likened it to a child learning to walk, stating that they wanted to start with something manageable and meaningful. The emotional connection with the people of Tamil Nadu also played a significant role in their decision.
The film’s storyline revolves around the relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law, and Sakshi Dhoni played an active role in all aspects of its production. She insisted on having an authentic Tamil-speaking heroine to maintain the film’s authenticity. Both Dhoni and Sakshi were incredibly supportive throughout the filmmaking process, emphasizing the importance of creating something they genuinely appreciated.
