Delhi Capitals continued their impressive start to IPL 2026 with a convincing six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, making it two wins in two games. The standout performer was Sameer Rizvi, whose brilliant 90 off 51 balls anchored the chase of 163 and underlined his growing stature in the tournament. With this knock, Rizvi not only registered his second consecutive fifty but also surged ahead in the Orange Cap race, overtaking Rohit Sharma.

Rizvi’s innings was a lesson in composure and calculated aggression. He began cautiously, assessing conditions before shifting gears seamlessly. Reflecting on his approach, Sameer Rizvi highlighted the work he has put in to improve against pace bowling.
“I’ve worked a lot. I’ve worked on my weaknesses, I wasn’t as good against fast bowlers,” he said. “I try to play according to the situation. I took time, got set and then played my shots. I tried to watch the ball as long as possible.”
