This season of the Indian Premier League seems to be of great importance for Sanju Samson. Following his maiden IPL century, Samson has had fair starts in the following matches. Today, he was magical on the field as well.
Kolkata Knight Riders required 16 runs in two overs to win today’s contest. Chris Morris was given the ball. Manish Pandey and Chris Woakes were on strike. On the second ball of the 19th over, Pandey hit Morris (for what looked like a six) to the long-on region. Samson, who was fielding at long-on, jumped up and caught the ball mid-air over his head.
Knowing the fact that he would have landed over the boundary, Samson threw the ball into the field of play. The valiant effort enabled him to save four runs for his team. After a poor standard of fielding in this season, fans would now be happy after such efforts (Ben Stokes did a similar effort yesterday). Watch the full video:
