The history books were rewritten during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 auctions. The Nepalese wrist-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane became the first ever player to feature in IPL from his country. He was brought by the Delhi Daredevils (DD) for his base price of ₹20 lakhs. Ever since then, the young leggie has been living the dream. Soon enough, he was drafted to play for St Kitts in the CPL 2018 as well.
The 17-year-old won the FBB stylish player award for his splendid performance against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday. He bowled a phenomenal spell of 1-21, as he bagged the crucial dismissal of Suresh Raina. That’s where the match turned in favor of the hosts.

Sandeep was very happy after getting the award and shared his feelings on Twitter with a huge caption. Alongside the picture of his trophy, the young spinner dedicated it to all his supporters who had backed him to do well. The youngster was showed his gratitude towards all his well-wishers.

Sandeep got to the limelight during the World Cup 2019 Qualifiers for Nepal. Despite the fact that his country couldn’t make a huge impact in the tournament, he was proclaimed as the rising star by the International Cricket Council (ICC). He considers Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne as his idols.
Recently, he has also been drafted into the World XI squad to play against the Windies. He was included after Shakib Al Hasan had to opt out of the game. As DD has their last assignment on Sunday against the Mumbai Indians (MI), Lamichhane would be looking forward to making one last impression in the IPL 2018.
