Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik Got Blessed With A Baby

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her husband Shoaib Malik, who is a well-known Pakistan cricketer are blessed with a baby boy, the proud father confirmed the news on Twitter on Tuesday Morning. The former captain of Pakistan cricket team wrote, “Excited to announce: It’s a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled. #BabyMirzaMalik.”

Sania delivered the child on Tuesday morning in Hyderabad and both mother and child were well. However, Shoaib Malik’s manager and agent, Ameem Haq, was the first to tweet the news and said that the Pakistani cricketer is over the moon. As he wrote, “#BabyMirzaMalik boy is here! Baby and mother are all smiles, the dad is over the moon.”

Earlier this year, the parents-to-be had later shared that their child will not have a Pakistani or Indian nationality. They also decided that their child would have Mirza Malik as the surname. Many came forward with congratulatory messages.

The well-known Indian filmmaker Farah Khan, who is one of the closest friends of Sania was among the first ones to break the news on Instagram. Announcing that she had become a ‘khala’ (aunt) and she congratulated the couple and the grandparents with a cute cartoon.

The 31-year-old tennis professional had broken the news of her pregnancy earlier this year in April with an adorable graphic, which indicated that the couple was making space for a new wardrobe of ‘Mirza-Malik’.

In the last few months, the Indian tennis superstar has shared numerous photographs on social media where she and her family members were seen attending events related to the baby.

The couple got married Shoaib in a traditional Hyderabadi wedding ceremony on April 12, 2010. Sania Mirza, who took a break to have her baby, is aiming to be back on the court for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
